Cookies and Javascript

Cookies:
Use of the flexxCOACH site requires that cookies are enabled.

The term/name "cookie" basically refers to a file that your browser has access to write information to.

flexxCOACH uses cookies to let us know that you have logged in sucessfully by storing information about your login within a cookie.  When cookies are disabled within your browser, you will be able to successfully login, but subsequent pages would not recognize you since the cookie does not exist.

It is important to note that cookies can be disabled by applications such as Norton Internet Security / Personal Firewall or McAfee Privacy Service.  If you are using these applications we recommend that flexxcoach.com be added to their list of safe sites which will allow the use of cookies.  You may need to review their software documentation or visit their web site for information on how to accomplish this.

How to Enable Cookies

To enable cookies, follow the instructions below for the browser version you are using.

Mozilla Firefox (1.0 final release and earlier)
  • Go to the "Tools" menu.
  • Select "Options".
  • Select the "Privacy" icon in the left panel.
  • Check the box corresponding to "Allow sites to set cookies".
  • Click "OK" to save changes.
Netscape 7.1/Mozilla 5.0
  • Select "Preferences" from the Edit menu.
  • Click on the arrow next to "Privacy & Security" in the scrolling window to expand.
  • Under "Privacy & Security", select "Cookies."
  • Select "Enable all cookies".
  • Click "OK".
Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0+
  • Select "Internet Options" from the Tools menu.
  • Click on the "Privacy" tab.
  • Click the "Default" button (or manually slide the bar down to "Medium") under "Settings".
  • Click "OK".
Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.x
  • Select "Internet Options" from the Tools menu.
  • Click on the "Security" tab.
  • Click the "Custom Level" button.
  • Scroll down to the "Cookies" section.
  • To enable:
    • Set "Allow cookies that are stored on your computer" to "Enable".
    • Set "Allow per-session cookies" to "Enable".
  • Click "OK".
Microsoft Internet Explorer 4.x
  • Select "Internet Options" from the View menu.
  • Click on the "Advanced" tab.
  • Scroll down to find "Cookies" within the "Security" section.
  • To enable:
    • Select "Always accept cookies".
  • Click "OK".
Netscape Communicator 4.x
  • Select "Preferences" from the Edit menu.
  • Find the "Cookies" section in the "Advanced" category.
  • To enable:
    • Select "Accept all cookies" (or "Enable all cookies").
  • Click "OK".
 
JavaScript:
flexxCOACH makes extensive use of JavaScript for content validation and to provide robust user interaction. Many features within the flexxCOACH practice planner will not work if JavaScript is disabled.

HOW TO ENABLE JavaScript:

Internet Explorer 6 and 7

  • Select Tools | Internet Options… menu item from the main menu.
  • Change to the Security tab at the top of the Internet Options window that pops up.
  • From the list of zones at the top of the Security options select the internet icon.
  • Select the button near the bottom that reads Custom Level.
  • In the new window that pops up, scroll down to the item that reads Active Scripting.
  • Select the option marked Enable.

Mozilla Firefox 1.5 and 2.0

  • Select Tools | Options... from the main menu.
  • Select Content button from the top row of options.
  • Select "Enable JavaScript." (You do not need to enable Java, but it is OK if you do.)
  • Note: You may wish to install the NoScript extension for Firefox to control which sites can run JavaScript.

Safari

  • Select Preferences from the Safari menu.
  • Select Security tab at the top.
  • Make sure "Enable JavaScript" is checked.

Opera 8 and 9

  • Select Tools | Quick Preferences ... from the main menu.
  • Make sure "Enable JavaScript" is checked.

Opera 6 and 7

  • Select File | Preferences... from the main menu.
  • Click Multimedia.
  • Under the "JavaScript" heading, select "Enable JavaScript."

Konqueror

  • Select Configure Konqueror from the Settings menu.
  • Make sure "Enable JavaScript globally" is checked under the Java & Javascript tab.

Netscape 6.x and 7.x (Mozilla 1.0)

  • Select Edit | Preferences… menu item from the main menu.
  • Click on the Advanced label displayed in the list of options on the left hand side of the Preferences window that pops up.
  • On the right hand side select the checkbox marked Enable Javascript for Navigator.
